It’s a small cluster of people (usually about 8-15) who gather weekly or bi-weekly to open up the Bible and learn from God’s Word. Most often this takes place in various homes throughout the community throughout the week – usually in the evenings after work.
We were made for community! We believe that we grow deeper and faster in the community of others who, like you, are wanting to grow deeper in their faith. As iron sharpens iron, faith sharpens faith. Isolated and alone, we have little support in our lives when the tough times come. But in community we develop strong and lasting friendships, support in times of trials and questions, and learn God’s Word and it’s application in our lives as we see how God has moved in others lives. At the end of your gathering, you will feel encouraged and refreshed!
Typically it starts with a social time (usually involving some form of snacks – yum!). Some type of book or Bible study is the centerpiece of the time together which allows for discussion for anyone wishing to participate. You’ll get different perspectives and insights from the experience of each person but the foundation is always God’s Word. It feels like a group of friends going out for coffee or a good steak dinner. Some place in the time together, prayer is offered or encouraged to cover things people in the group or loved ones or friends are going through. You can participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
No, it’s an inviting and uplifting atmosphere. God shows us grace and love and so do our communities.
Nope, not at all. You can be at ANY place in your spiritual journey – whether you’ve ever picked up a Bible or not.
Some groups have options for kids while others don’t. We can help you understand which groups will be kid friendly. We also have some groups meeting on Sundays and Wednesdays at the church with children’s programs available. Learn more.
